Most people experience emotional difficulties at some time in their lives. Often these can be resolved without the need to seek help. For some these difficulties may persist, with current issues giving rise to feelings related to the past, of which they are not consciously aware, or, they may have a vague awareness of what is causing or contributing to their feelings but have little or no understanding.
It is in situations such as these that counselling may be able to help. Counselling can help with a broad range of difficulties, some of which are listed below. Inevitably, this list is not exhaustive and it may not necessarily identify specifically what it is you feel you need help with. You should be guided by your own feelings. If you feel burdened in any way, it is likely that counselling will be able to help you. The list contains only some of the problems most commonly presented:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Difficulties in coming to terms with losses such as bereavement, break up of a relationship, or a child leaving home.
- Difficulties in expression feelings.
- Lack of confidence and feelings of low self esteem.
- Relationship Problems.
